Prepared For Severe Weather? Important Storm Safety Tips.

Were you woken up by the storm that rumbled over Eagle Ridge in the early hours of this morning? There certainly was a fantastic lightning show, along with some powerful winds, rain, and even hail. When severe weather hits, are you prepared and do you know where to go for safety? Having a plan and being prepared is very important, and we want all of our residents here at Eagle Ridge to be safe.

Tornado
There is an important distinction between Tornado Watches and Warnings. In Watches, you must remain alert and plan your actions. In Warnings, you must act!

Severe Thunderstorm Warning means the National Weather Service expects thunderstorms with large hail and/or damaging winds in excess of 57 mph. Frequent lightening is possible. Warning sirens usually do not sound. Be prepared to take cover quickly.

Tornado Watch means current weather conditions could produce a tornado. Children should be inside and a flashlight and radio should be kept handy. Your ultimate safety may depend on the information you receive.

Tornado Warning means a tornado or funnel cloud has been sighted or detected on radar. When you hear warning sirens, move to safety; you should quickly proceed to the garage level of the building.

Power Outage
Power outages can occur occasionally. If your apartment loses power, contact the Rental Office or the after-hour emergency number if you need assistance. Power outages involving non-payment or more than one apartment are the responsibility of the local electric company.

She graduated from Osseo Senior High and the 2013 class size was 400 students. Her plans for the fall include attending University of Minnesota - Duluth, with an interest in studying to become a brain surgeon.

Congratulations on your graduation, Brianna!

Flag Day is celebrated to commemorate the adoption our national flag. June 14th, 1777 was the resolution of the Second Continental Congress, which adopted the flag of the United States.

June 16 - Father’s Day
Today is the day to celebrate your father or a father-figure in your life. Honor the one who tackled his role as “Dad” and lived it to the fullest. Do something special today for the father in your life.

June 18 - National Go Fishing Day

June 21 - First Day of Summer
Yeah! It’s finally here! Let’s go to some music festivals and of course get ready for all of the great summer fairs. Some of our favorite summer activities include: eating watermelon and grilled corn on the cob, going to the state fair and simply enjoying the warm weather with some friends.

June 28 - Paul Bunyan Day

The legend of Paul Bunyan dates back to the 1800’s. This legend is believed to originate from French Canadians during the Papineau rebellion of 1837. There are many tales of Paul Bunyan that have been turned into children’s books, including stories of how Paul scooped out the Great Lakes to get water for his big blue ox named Babe. They also say the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota were formed from Paul and Babe’s foot prints when they were wandering through a blizzard.
