A Fresh, Tasty, and Wholesome Food Experience

We think that a great perk of living at Eagle Ridge Apartments is our close proximity to all kinds of wonderful shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. Today we feature a very interesting cafe and wine bar in downtown Osseo called Collage Global Cafe.

Just what is Collage Global Cafe? The word collage in their name is a pretty apt description - they do a lot! This inviting food boutique shop in downtown Osseo is a deli restaurant where you can dine, take cooking classes, or purchase sustainable and locally sourced produce. Their menu and cooking classes are a collage of many tastes, too. You'll find cooking classes for Indian, Thai, international, and seasonal cuisines, and more.

You can wash all of that tasty food down with a great pairing of wine or beer - Collage Global Cafe also bills itself as a Taps and Wine Bar. The menu is always changing daily at the cafe, so it's always a new experience when you visit. The next time you are looking for a new culinary experience, give them a try!

Location: 204 Central Ave., Osseo, MN

Getting All Atumnal

We have had some beautiful Fall days lately. Hopefully you have had a chance to get outside and enjoy it. The leaves are changing colors and we see quite a few neighbors around Eagle Ridge Apartments putting up some festive Autumn decorations.

Autumn Decorations

If you are the decorative type then we would love your help getting Eagle Ridge into the fun of the season. When you decorate your patio or balcony, please keep the following tips in mind.
  • Jack-o-Lanterns are good, spooky fun and we would love it if you sent a picture of your fantastic carving. Please remember - do not place lit candles inside your Jack-o-Lantern. Out of an abundance of caution use battery powered candle lights to keep those gourds looking spooky, and not so spooky that the fire department gets called.
  • Mums the word for fall flowers! Mums is short for chrysanthemums. You can find Fall Mums at the grocery store and garden centers and they come in all kinds of wonderful colors.
  • Wreaths are not just for Christmas, folks! Some retailers sell beautiful harvest-themed wreaths. Or, if you are particularly crafty, you can make your own.
  • Patio lights can help you frame your space, and we have seen some that could fit into your theme of choice, whether you are going for spooky or harvest.

Pictures!

After you have gone through all that effort of decorating, you are bound to be proud of your work, right? Snap a photo and share it with the rest of us on our Facebook page and let us all enjoy your creativity.

Magda Drive Road Closure October 14 to 18

There's been quite a bit of activity going on around Eagle Ridge lately, but probably the biggest project is the maintenance that the City of Maple Grove has been doing along Magda Drive. We wanted to give you a heads up about the need to plan ahead in the coming days as traffic patterns will be disrupted. Here's a quote from the City's web page:
Magda Drive Road Closure (Eagle Lake Sanitary Sewer Project)Magda Drive is scheduled to be closed to traffic from October 14 to October 18, 2013, north of 69th Avenue, for sanitary sewer maintenance work.  Suggested alternate route is I-694 and TH 169, using Hemlock Lane and 63rd Avenue interchanges.  See project update on Public Works page for more information.  Also, please see the attached map for closure location.

Patio Slabs

In addition to the work on the roads, we've been doing some sprucing up of the property as well. We take great pride in keeping Eagle Ridge Apartments looking great and making our community a beautiful place to live. When we saw that some of our patios needed repair we brought in Valley Blacktopping at the beginning of October to replace ten patio slabs.

With all of the activity going on around here, we want to give a big thank-you to all of our residents for using caution around these work areas. Plus, thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to keep Eagle Ridge a phenomenal place to live!

Coty Celebrates One Year At Eagle Ridge

October is a big month around here this year, because Coty has been working at Eagle Ridge for a year. The next time you're around the office stop by and congratulate her on her one year anniversary!

Coty says that her favorite part of being a Leasing Consultant for Eagle Ridge Apartments is that she gets to work with the entire staff to make sure our community is a beautiful place to live for our residents. She enjoys getting to know all of our wonderful residents. She does a great job of making our residents feel welcome and we are thankful for how hard she works to make sure Eagle Ridge is a great home for everyone who lives here.

October Begins Sweet and Ends Spooky

October is well known for it's BIG holiday, Halloween, but did you know there's quite a few other notable days throughout the month?

October 5 - World Teacher’s Day
World Teacher’s Day was created by Federico Mayor, in 1993. Take time today to show your son's or daughter’s teacher your appreciation. Whether it be an apple or a nice gift, our teachers deserve thanks for all they do!

October 9 - Fire Prevention Day
Fire prevention efforts were sparked by the Great Chicago fire in 1871. Take time today to reevaluate your fire prevention measures and practice a home fire drill. Do you and your family have a plan on what to do if there is a fire in your home? If you don’t have a plan, today is a perfect day to make one.

October 11 - Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day
Yes! It’s an excuse to feel like a kid, even for just a moment!

October 16 - Boss’ Day
Celebrate your boss today! Let them know how much you appreciate them!

October 19 - Sweetest Day
Originally founded by Herbert Birch Kingston in 1922, Herbert wanted to bring happiness to orphans and under-privileged and began this holiday by giving them small gifts and candy. Today, this holiday is celebrated almost as a second Valentine’s Day by actions of giving flowers and candy to loved ones. However, in addition to showing your love to people close to you, use this day as Herbert intended and show kindness to those in need.

October 31 - Halloween
Trick or Treat! That’s right; it’s that time of year where little ghosts and goblins roam the neighborhood seeking sweet treats. Some local businesses have indoor trick or treating available; check your local listings to see if there are any in your area. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
