Container Gardening Fun - Check Out Photos From The Class

We would like to thank our Eagle Ridge residents who came out to the container gardening class last week on Thursday night - it certainly was a lot of fun!

Attendees had a good variety of sun or shade loving plants to choose from to fill the patio pot or hanging basket they selected. Jeremiah, a horticulturalist, shared a few tips on design ideas and how various plants would interact with each other to create a beautiful visual effect, plus some tips on caring for the plants. The class was a hands-on experience as participants designed and planted their arrangements.

We're excited to see all those beautiful flowers gracing the balconies and patios around Eagle Ridge. And remember, this August we'll be conducting our blooming balcony and patio contest - so whether you could make it to the class or not - if you decorate your outdoor space you'll automatically be entered into the contest with the chance to win the $25 prize. Enjoy the growing season and all those flowers!

Here's some of photos from the container gardening class:

Plenty Of Showers Are Good For Those Flowers

It's been a rainy couple of days and everything is looking bright and fresh around Eagle Ridge. The grass is bright green, the trees are putting buds and blooms out, and just recently flowers were planted in our pots all around the community. We'd like to give a big thanks to Jeremiah, he stopped out last week to plant pretty flowers in all of our pots. All those plants are loving the rain we've gotten recently.

We'd also like to give a big thank you to all of our residents who help make our community look great - from your patio decorations to the flower pots you've put out on your balconies. Keep up the good work, and enjoy the warm weather!

The shade pots in front of the office feature Begonias, Torenia, and English Ivy.

The hanging baskets feature Fuschia, which has a very unique and cool flower.

Way Cool - Progress On The Pool

Pool season is coming up fast! Here at Eagle Ridge we're all excited about the warmer weather and the eventual opening the pool. It's a big project to get a pool like ours ready for the season, and our painting and maintenance crew have been working hard, with hopes to have the pool open by the Memorial Day weekend. Be sure to check out our May newsletter, which will have all the pool rules.

The process began by removing the pool cover and cleaning out debris that built up over the winter.  We had to power wash the entire area and do repairs to the deck, tile, and grates. Then Scott will "dive" in and gave the pool a good painting. In order to paint he needs night temperatures to be above 50 degrees for two to three nights in a row, and he needs seven consecutive days of no rain for the paint to cure. Let's all hope that Mother Nature gives Scott good window!

Once all of the maintenance and painting prep is done, we'll start filling the pool - all 56,500 gallons of it - which will take three days to fill. It will take another three days to heat all of that water. While that's going on we'll be getting out the pool chairs and tables and making sure they're ready to go. We'll also make sure that we've checked and installed all the safety equipment.

The last item to check off before we can open the pool? The Hennepin County inspector has to visit the pool and give us a thumbs up.

And then we can all stay cool at the pool.

Eagle Ridge Gets Thumbs Up During Triennial Inspection

Recently we had a visit from the Maple Grove City Inspector, as a part of his routine inspection that he makes of all apartment communities in the city every three years. He goes over a checklist of things that touch on health and safety standards. The City Inspector, Jessie, was very impressed with the upkeep of our community and the friendliness of our residents.

We're proud of the great review we received and we want to thank all of our residents for your cooperation during the inspection. We think Eagle Ridge is a great place to live and continually work to keep it that way. If you ever need any maintenance done on your apartment please be sure to contact the office as soon as possible so we can send out our staff to address the issue. And thanks for being a part of what makes Eagle Ridge a wonderful place to live!

Parking Restrictions Next Thursday And Friday For Garage And Lot Sweeping

We like to keep Eagle Ridge looking great, and that's why after the snow melts we like to give our parking lots and garages a good 'Spring Sweeping'. Next week, on Thursday we'll be closing the garages, and on Friday we'll be closing the parking lots, to give them a thorough sweeping.

It's very important that all vehicles are moved from the areas being swept during the designated days and times. We appreciate your cooperation with this, and thank you for your help keeping Eagle Ridge a tidy place to live!

We would never intentionally inconvenience any resident by towing a vehicle without attempting to contact the owner first. However, we will be unable to place calls on these days, so please take note of the following:

THURSDAY, MAY 9, 8:00 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M. – NO PARKING IN GARAGES

FRIDAY, MAY 10 6 8:00 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M. – NO PARKING IN LOTS

You MAY Be Celebrating Some Of These Holidays This Month

Here's our wish for you: MAY you have a wonderful month of MAY! There are several holidays this month that are noteworthy. As we patiently wait for the flowers and trees to bloom, at least we have these holidays to give us reasons to celebrate this month.

May 5th - Cinco De Mayo
Translates from Spanish to“the fifth of May”, this is a national holiday in Mexico and is celebrated by many
people in the US as well. This day celebrates the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, where the Mexican army defeated the French in an unlikely victory.

May 12th - Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is celebrated in America as a day to honor our mothers. Whether a biological mother or a motherly figure, celebrate the women in your life that helped you grow and showed you the love of a mother.

May 15th - Police Officer’s Memorial Day
Police Officer’s Memorial Day is a day to honor all police officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. Recent research shows that 140-160 officers are killed in the line of duty each year. That is a lot of fathers, brothers, sisters and mothers not returning to their families each year. Let’s show our support and respect to our local officers this day and every day for the sacrifice they make for us.

May 18th - Visit Your Relatives Day
Family can be a source of joy and frustration, sometimes at the same time! But they are often the ones that are there for you through thick and thin. So, on this day, show your appreciation for your family and spend some quality time with them.

May 27th - Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a U.S. holiday remembering the U.S. men and women who died during military service. All U.S. federal flags are flown at half staff today in honor of those who gave their lives for our country. Many local cemeteries will be having Memorial Day services typically hosted by local VFW’s or American Legions.
