Getting All Crafty For Your Easter Dinner Centerpiece

If you are cooking a big Easter feast tomorrow you probably have your list of menu items all set to go, with some prep work done already. But, did you remember the decorative centerpiece? Here's a fun and crafty Easter-themed idea that's sure to set your dinner guests talking. It's the classic Yarn Easter Egg Hopper.

Yarn Easter Egg Recipe

One ball of crochet thread (150 yards of your favorite color)
1 cup of sugar
½ cup of water
1 oval shaped balloon
Lace and silk flowers or other decorations of your choice for opening
Glue or hot glue gun for attaching lace/decorations
Easter grass
Plastic eggs filled with candy

Boil sugar and water. Put ball of thread into mixture - make sure it soaks all the way through so coated thoroughly. Blow up the balloon as big as you would like your basket to be. (if you want larger you may need more thread)

Wrap the string around the balloon. When completely covered, hang the balloon by the top (tied of end) and let dry. (about 40 minutes) Break balloon and flatten on bottom so it stands up. Cut out oval in front - glue lace around the opening.

Put decorative plastic grass and candy filled eggs inside. Makes a great table centerpiece for your Easter dinner.

Spring Breakfast Was Great Fun And Big Success

The whole staff here at Eagle Ridge wants to thank our residents for coming out and joining us this past Tuesday morning for the Spring Breakfast. We had a wonderful time visiting with our residents and we were glad to have the chance to catch up with each of you. Plus, there were some rather tasty donuts and muffins involved!

The Spring Breakfast is one of our annual Resident Appreciation events, we got up early and in each building's lobby we served up a continental breakfast of donuts, muffins, fruit, juice, and Caribou coffee. We think our residents are important, and it's one way we can show our appreciation that you chose to live at Eagle Ridge Apartments.

Check out some of the photos we snapped at the breakfast, and to see even more pictures visit our Facebook page.

His favorite musical is Phantom of the Opera. he's done some world traveling as well. He has been to Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy and, his favorite, the UK.

As he travels around the world, he enjoys collecting miscellaneous trinkets. March Into Spring

March certainly is packed with a lot notable days. There are some major religious holidays mixed in with important demarcations of the changing season.

March 1- Peanut Butter Lover's Day

This holiday doesn't need much explanation. If you love peanut butter, then this day is for you. Did you know that Elvis was a big fan of peanut butter? One of his favorite ways to eat it was on a peanut butter and banana sandwich.

March 8 - International Women's Day
Originally called International Working Women's Day, this day celebrates and honors the accomplishments of women. The holiday began as a political movement in some European and Soviet countries, but has been adopted by most countries as a celebration of the achievements of women in economic, social, and political arenas.

March 10 - Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00AM
Today is the day to "spring forward". Make sure to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed so you're not late for work!

March 17 - St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day commemorates the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. There are huge celebrations in Ireland, and most businesses are closed. Since this is a Christian holiday, there is a tradition of many Irish attending Mass and praying for missionaries. In America, many celebrate by wearing green and many cities have parades. Listen to Irish folk music and partake in Irish foods and drinks as a part of your celebration.

March 20 - Spring Begins
There's some excitement in the air - so many people look forward to the start of spring and all in brings. Flowers, warm days, beautiful blooms on the trees, and spring birds returning. No more snow, no more slipping and sliding on the roads. Let's just hope the weather cooperates with the calendar.

March 25 - Passover
Passover is a Jewish holiday that remembers the Israelite's Exodus from Egypt. The holiday spans seven days, and during this time those observing it will fast from eating unleavened bread. This practice commemorates the manner in which the Israelite's fled Egypt, in a hurry and without time to allow their bread to rise. Passover ends this year on April 2nd.

March 29 - Good Friday
Good Friday is a religious holiday for Christians, who on this day remember the crucifixion of Jesus.

March 31- Easter Sunday
Easter (also known as Resurrection Sunday) is a Christian celebration which follows three days after Good Friday. Christians celebrate the belief that on this day Jesus rose from the dead. Popular cultural symbols include the Easter bunny, colored eggs and egg hunts, and sweets.
