Sweeping Announcement From Eagle Ridge

We're always striving to make Eagle Ridge a great place to live, and that means sometimes we have to do some maintenance and cleaning, such as sweeping the garages and parking lots. The garages are scheduled for sweeping on Thursday, June 28 from 11:00AM to 7:00PM. It is imperative that all vehicles are moved from the areas being swept during this designated day and time so we can reach into all the nooks and crannies.

We would never intentionally inconvenience any resident by towing a vehicle without attempting to contact the owner first. However, we will be unable to place calls on this day. Vehicles that are not moved during the hours of 11:00AM to 7:00PM will be towed at the owner’s expense without further warning.

As a reminder, garages and lots are ONLY for parking vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, etc.); storage of other items are not permitted, by order of the Fire Marshall. If you have any questions on where you may park, please contact the Rental Office.

Additionally we'll be sweeping the parking lots on Friday, July 6 from 11:00AM to 7:00PM and parking will be unavailable in the parking lots during that time. We'll post a reminder on this blog as we get closer to that date.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your co-operation. We're sure you'll agree with us that maintaining Eagle Ridge helps to make it such a wonderful place to live.

Fresh And Local Produce At Area Farmer's Market

Farmer's Market season is in full swing. Even this early part of the summer there is fresh and local produce to be found. Produce that you'll find at our local farmer's markets during the early season include: asparagus, green onions, radishes, rhubarb, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, peas, and strawberries, to name just some of their offerings.

Here's some area farmer's markets that you could check out:

Maple Grove Farmer's Market at the Maple Grove Community Center at 12951 Weaver Lake Road, Maple Grove, MN. http://www.ci.maple-grove.mn.us/content/309/default.aspx.
Hours: Thursday's from 3:00PM to 7:00PM.

Minneapolis Farmer's Market at 312 Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. http://www.mplsfarmersmarket.com/

With all this wonderful local food, the next question naturally is "What do I do with it all?" Not to fear, many of the vendors at the farmer's market have recipes available on their websites. Pick up a pork tenderloin from Neumann Farms and some maple syrup from Three Rivers Farm. Three Rivers Farm has a recipe on their website for Maple Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin. Both are vendors at the Maple Grove Farmer's Market.

Exploring each stall at a farmer's market is a great way to enjoy the summer's warmth; happy shopping!

Summer And Holidays Pack June With Fun

With summer upon us there's plenty of reason for cheer, and yet June insists on giving us more reasons for merriment with several holidays.

June 14- Flag Day

Flag Day is celebrated to commemorate the adoption our national flag. The Second Continental Congress passed a resolution adopting the flag of the United States on June 14th, 1777.

June 17- Father’s Day
Today is the day to celebrate your father or a father-figure in your life. Honor the one who took his role as “Dad” and lived it to the fullest. The one who played with you, spent time with you, and was there for you in the difficult times. Do something special today for the father in your life.

June 20- First Day of Summer
Yeah! It’s finally here! It's time for outdoor music festivals and great summer fairs. Some of our favorite summer activities include: eating watermelon and grilled corn on the cob, going to the Minnesota State Fair and just enjoying the warm weather with some friends.

June 28- Paul Bunyan Day
The legend of Paul Bunyan dates back to the 1800’s. This legend is believed to originate from French Canadians during the Papineau rebellion of 1837. There are many tales of Paul Bunyan and many have been incorporated into children’s books; including stories of how Paul scooped out the Great Lakes to get water for his big blue ox named Babe. They also say the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota were formed from Paul and Babe’s foot prints when they were wandering through a blinding blizzard.

Staying Cool In The Pool

Our pool at Eagle Ridge has been busy lately, which isn't too surprising given the beautiful weather we've had lately! We snapped some great photos of residents playing catch and just enjoying the pool.

Scott Caught Being Enthused About Painting Party Room

We've recently made some updates to our party room kitchen - have you seen it yet? We also snapped this great photo of our painter, Scott, trying out a new color.

Scott appears to be pleased with the new color!
